About AI Transcript

What it does

You paste a YouTube link. We fetch the caption track that video already publishes, reshape it into a clean transcript with a timestamp on every line, and show it next to an embedded player. You can search it, click any line to jump the video to that moment, copy it in four shapes or download it in five formats.

How it works, honestly

There is no artificial intelligence listening to your video. Nearly every public YouTube video carries a timed text track — either captions the creator wrote or captions YouTube's own speech recognition produced. We read that track and present it properly. That is why the result is instant and free, and it is also why a video without captions simply cannot be read.

The name says AI because that is what people search for. The mechanism is extraction, and we would rather say so on the about page than let you find out when the numbers in a quote turn out to be wrong.

What it deliberately does not do

• No account. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log in to.
• No stored transcripts. Each request is fetched fresh and lives in your browser tab.
• No upload. We never receive a video file, only a link.
• No paywall on any format. Every download is the same price as every other: nothing.

How it is paid for

Advertising, placed below the tool and inside the transcript column — never above the input box. A tool you have to scroll past an advert to use is a worse tool, and the arithmetic on that never works out in the reader's favour. Ad slots reserve their height before they load, so nothing on the page jumps around as they appear.
